Moonfire: Membership

Dear Moonfire Sisters and Brothers,

Moonfire Meeting House, center for wholistic wellness, earth education and spiritual unfolding, was founded sixteen years ago by Lorraine Simone, also known to many of you as Deep Arrow Woman. It has always been her vision to create community living in harmony with the earth. Moonfire is just that - a safe and sacred space to ”be” and “become”, where lives are transformed and miracles happen every day.

Through the years, Moonfire Meeting House has flourished. It’s expanded from a small Circle in Deep Arrow’s living room in Amagansett, to the office in Southampton, to book stores, spas, centers, and private homes throughout the country, and continues to show signs of healthy growth with plans for a training encampment in Austria with Oh Shinnah Fast Wolf next summer, and new and exciting e-courses from recently renamed Women’s Ways Mystery School.

Moonfire has always been an independent entity, and as such, everyone intuitively understood that someone had been paying the bills to keep its doors open. Now, the time has come for those of us who have walked through those doors in search of self and supportive community to carry on its legacy of “service to self/service to others”.

“It struck me as unusual when, during my first Winter Solstice in 2001, I found my self in the middle of the woods, in a huge building lit only with candles and surrounded by a community of men and women. More women than I’d ever been with in my life, about thirty, and I realized I wasn’t afraid of competition, I wasn’t worried I’d be judged and there was no room for doubt. I felt, through the structure of the circle, the quiet preparation of prayer bundles, and the beautiful ceremonies, something special was happening to me, it was magical! I let myself peek out. It was safe. I was home.” ~ Nancy

We invite you to step forward and identify yourself as a Member of Moonfire Meeting House, regardless of your current relationship to Moonfire or lack thereof. Make a financial investment in continuing to actualize Deep Arrow’s visionary work, and foster our virtual and physical community. Deep Arrow has always said, “If you have been touched, in any way by the Work of Moonfire, you are part of this Moonfire community. Come join us now and formalize your connection with Moonfire with a membership! Help us assure that Moonfire’s doors remain open for the next stream of seekers to be welcomed home to themselves.

Of the many important needs your Membership Fee and Gift Contributions will support, in these Changing Times, is sustaining the Moonfire office in Southampton. This office not only houses Moonfire’s administrative functions and workshops, it holds space for the vision and energy of this community with its many sacred altars and objects for healing, and is more than a physical representation of the heart and soul of Moonfire Meeting House. It symbolizes the success of visualizing and manifesting a dream. The office contains an extensive book, CD and video library; community archives of countless events classes and awards; supplies for ceremonies, encampments and healing sessions; and on occasion it even provides a place for the weary searcher to lay his or her head.

And with this acknowledgement to share in the present and safeguard our future, we ask you to continue to hold the vision of Moonfire’s future as we press to maintain ongoing programs; upgrade office equipment; secure spaces for large gatherings and retreats; obtain new acquisitions for our library; revive The Ways of the Talking Stick Newsletter; make Circle Work more accessible to men, women and their children; establish more TeleCircles and TeleConferences for friends around the country and across the waters, and support out-of-state start up groups. Work has already begun on developing training materials and e-courses, establishing an interactive web site, and subsidizing the publishing of important books. We envision more actual and virtual community building, land on which to house a Residential Moonfire Center, and Rites of Passage Ceremonies for men and women on a national and international scale.
