"MEN'S CIRCLE" FORMING IN SUFFOLK COUNTY

At breakfast on Winter Solstice morning, following community circles and ceremonies, Deep Arrow and Chris Puleo had a conversation about "the sacrifice and the service of men." Something Deep Arrow said about men reclaiming their Sacred Feminine energies touched Chris' heart so deeply that he asked her to consider facilitating a Men's Circle.

She replied that ten years ago she worked with men in this way in Amagansett and she loved the experience. Chris nurtured the thought of a Men's Circle with Deep Arrow and began speaking with friends about the idea of having a woman facilitate a Circle for them.

We are happy to announce a Men's Circle will be forming in Suffolk County with Deep Arrow. Congratulations to Chris for manifesting this idea whose time has come! The Circle is open to men of all spiritual practices and levels of circle experience who are interested in rituals, teachings and ceremonies that activate the Sacred Feminine within men.

For men to live more fully from their hearts and to walk their talk in step with the rhythm of life, Deep Arrow believes they must first complete developing their inner feminine. Only then will they feel truly balanced and whole, ready to embrace life and bring the Ways of the Sacred Masculine into the world. This passage to manhood was traditionally marked by Rites of Passage.

Drawing on her 18 years of training with Native elders, her studies of indigenous cultures and Earth Ways, and over a decade of facilitating Women's Circles, Deep Arrow feels her most important work to date is reclaiming Rites of Passage ceremonies. She says that since we lost this tradition in Western Culture, we, as a society, find ourselves out of sequence with the Laws of Nature.

In the long time ago, boy children, as well as girl children, were prepared by the women in their community to live life from the heart. All children were taught compassion, cooperation, caring for the young, the ill and the elders. They were shown how to listen to their inner guidance in the stillness of their souls, how to see limitless possibilities in the darkness of the New Moon and how to live in alignment with the ebb and flow of the natural rhythms of life.

When the children's training was complete and it was time for their Rites of Passage, the girls were given their autonomy and initiated into teachings of the deeper mysteries of Nature and Life's Cycles and the boys were passed to the men's society to learn the ways of the world.

At Circles, Deep Arrow often recalls the story of White Buffalo Calf Woman, Great Goddess of the Lakota, who brought the very powerful gifts of Sacred Pipe Ceremony and the Principles of Harmony to the people. The principles of Harmony, an Arcane word in the language of the Shishindi, are simple and profound guide-lines for men and women to follow.

Women nurture the men and children and, in turn, teach the men and children how to nurture themselves and others, and men agree to learn these lessons from the women, to protect and serve the women and all the children. Living as White Buffalo Calf Woman suggests brings balance to one's life and community. Balance naturally leads to Peace and Joy, which ultimately results in Harmony. Deep Arrow believes these teachings eliminate the confusion that our culture experiences around personal purpose and gender roles by providing clearly defined guidelines, while honoring each individual's creative process to be true to one's self.

If you would like more information about these teachings and are ready for this Men's Circle, please contact Chris at 631-698-0091, and reserve a place at the Circle.
